CLASSES with Mark Jetton of DEADBEAT DESIGN Stamps
Saturday, July 28, 2007
We had a wonderful time Saturday, with our visiting artist Mark Jetton, owner and creator of Deadbeat Design Stamps.
Mark taught two classes, using his TEXAS themed rubber stamps that are VERY popular at Stamp Antonio Arts. Class one was his Four Room Book, and the second class was a Star Book he adapted to resemble the Texas State symbol, the five pointed star!
I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the Star Book class, and we really had a good time talking with Mark and picking his brain on all things TEXAS.
On behalf of the customers, owners, management, and employees of Stamp Antonio Arts, we wish to thank you, Mark, for your excellent instruction.
We hope we can persuade you to come again soon, and teach more of
your wonderful classes.
We have many samples on display, of Mark's stamps, and cards he has made for us. We also have his class projects on display for you to see if you stop by the store.
Until next time,
Mindy

COMMENTS REQUESTED!
Hello everyone!
I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for the wonderful comments you have given me on my writing of this blog. If you haven't been in the store lately, I would LOVE to hear from those of you who visit with us via the Internet.
The purpose of this blog is to keep our out-of-town visitors, as well as our local visitors informed of new stock we have received at the store, and the "SPECIAL" happenings that may not always make the newsletter.
I will also try to share photos of the above mentioned happenings and new stock, as availble.
Please be sure to check the blog frequently, there may be hidden "coupons" or "discounts" entwined among the entries in blogs to come! So you will have to read carefully.
Again, please send in your comments, or ideas of things you would like to see included in this blog. Until next time,
All the best to you!

Demo Night with A Stamp in the Hand
Thursday evening we welcomed back Kat Okamoto and Joyce Hazen from A Stamp in the Hand stamp company. They were our Guest Artists, and held a demo and several interesting classes Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 27th.
We had a full house, with first time stampers, and those of us who have visited with Joyce and Kat several times before. They try to visit us twice a year, whenever their busy schedule allows. They always bring a Trunk Show of all their NEW stamp designs, along with the "Old Standby's" that we have all grown to love.
At the FREE DEMO on Thursday evening, Kat and Joyce both showed in detail, their new release stamps, and how to use them. These two very talented women are very thorough in showing the experienced and novice stamper, how they too, can create beautiful "works of Art" with very little practice.
There will be more about these talented ladies, and some samples of their work in future blogs, so stay tuned!

NEW ITEMS THIS WEEK!
We have received several New Items this week that I thought you all might be interested in. Scrapbook Trends Magazine publishes a book called "CARDS," and we have started carrying it beginning with the August 2007 issue. (shown above) This book contains over 150 creative ideas for making your own cards. It sells for $19.95, and we have a limited number available at this time.
We have also received new holiday stamps from Art Impressions, and SOME punches from Marvy. Most of the punches were backordered, but if your name is in the Special Order Book for punches you WILL be called when the orders come in.
We have also received the Scor-It Scoring System, mentioned in the July/August store Newsletter. I have tried it, and love how easy it makes scoring cardstock and papers. We have one available at the store to try out, if you are interested. Come on in, and try it to see how easy scoring can be.
I also wanted to mention our "VISITING ARTISTS' WEEKEND" coming up this weekend, July 26, 27, and 28th. Kat and Joyce, from A Stamp in the Hand, will be here giving classes using their stamps Thursday and Friday, and will be presenting a FREE DEMO Thursday evening. Please check the class schedule for times. There ARE openings available for all of the classes, so call early to reserve your space.
Saturday, July 28, 2007, Mark Jetton from Deadbeat Designs, will be teaching two classes using his TEXAS themed stamps. If you love "All Things TEXAS" be sure to come check out Mark's stamp designs that will make you "GLAD TO BE FROM TEXAS" whenever you use them.
Well, that's all for now. Keep checking back to the blog, I will keep you informed of all the exciting, and happening new things that come in to Stamp Antonio. Hope to see you soon!

AMuse*A*Palooza: DAY THREE
Friday, July 13, 2007
Day three brings more Make-N-Takes at the store. Our customers enjoy the Art Bar workspace we set up at the front of the store.
They can sit at the counter and enjoy the company of others, while creating works of art, and learning new stamping techniques they may not have been familiar with when they came in.
Today's card, the "Stamp Shop" was a "MUST MAKE" to remind our customers of their favorite stamp store, Stamp Antonio Arts!
More Door Prizes, furnished by AMuse, were given today and the winners were so happy to get their "goodie bags!"

HAPPY STAMPERS! Thats what we love to see at Stamp Antonio!
A wonderful group of artists came together on a cloudy afternoon for stamping fun and friendship! Although they did not all know each other when they came in, after spending a few hours together stamping and creating, they left knowing they had made "new friends" along with beautiful Holiday Cards.

AMuse*A*Palooza Saturday
Our "BIG EVENT" of AMUSEAPALOOZA week was held on Saturday, July 14, 2007. Our AMuse Holiday Card Class filled our classroom with eager students that just couldn't wait to get their hands on the WONDERFUL NEW AMUSE STAMPS!
Our good friend, Carrie Edelmann-Avery of Debbie Gunion & Associates, Inc. and formerly co-owner of Stamp Antonio, instructed the class in making 9+ holiday cards and even a couple of bonus items. The students went from station to station, creating unique cards that they will be excited to share with family and friends. Refreshments were served, and one of the students was celebrating her birthday today, and felt as if the party was "just for her!" Door prizes furnished by AMuse were given out, and everyone enjoyed their afternoon of card stamping.
