Slatwall waiting for Stamps!

"Where are my stamps?" said Slatwall impatiently.

"They're in boxes waiting to be moved over here," I said.

"Well, I'm tired of waiting .... I want everyone to come see us," Slatwall moaned. "And where's that carpet you keep talking about?"

I smiled and said, "It's coming today, Slatwall! And in just a few more days it will be SATURDAY... and you know what that means -- we'll be open!"

Days 3 & 4 of the move!

We're almost finished packing up - that's the good news! The not so good news is - the new space is still being remodeled so we're in a hold pattern until the weekend. The beautiful new carpet has been delivered and will be installed shortly so we can begin to unpack. The classrooms are being painted and finished out. So much activity going on - deliveries of product to the new location, meeting our new neighbors, waiting for the new sign and getting ready for AMuse*A*Palooza coming July 10th.

The Move - Day 2

We started at 10 today and worked straight through till 5. It was a LONG day. The retail space is completely packed and the classroom/storage/office is "in progress". Our sign was taken down today and here we are saying "bye-bye" until we see the new version at our new location!

The Move - Day 1

Loud music, lots of laughter and loads of boxes - that was the scene today, as Maureen, Linda, Jane, Von, Carol, Zoe and I packed up the store. I had all good intentions of posting photos for you, but of course in the rush to leave, I forgot my camera! I'll post photos tomorrow and you'll be amazed at what we did in one day. Tomorrow our sign will be taken down and updated before being moved to the new location. Wait till you see the new and improved sign, it's fun, just like the new location.

Mother's Day is just around the corner!

Greetings fellow Stamp Antonio bloggettes! My year started off well, had at least one posting a month, until March when it hit the preverbial brick wall! I fell one day and broke my arm. So, I have been nursing my first ever broken bone, a compound fracture no less in my left forearm for the last month and a half! That's why I haven't been blogging.

I have been missing out on some wonderful sounding occurances and classes at the store, but I hope you have been taking advantage of them in my stead. I heard that the Asian Art Fest this past weekend was terriffic, and there were so many things going on that it was hard to take them all in. I have also heard there are some great things happening for Mother's Day this coming weekend, so be sure to check them out!

Since I have been cooped up here at home for the last 6 weeks, I have been doing a lot of reading in my stash of Papercrafts magazines and books, trying to get some new ideas for cards, classes and projects. I can't wait to get this nasty cast off and get back to my crafting.

Well, I didn't want to drone on about my problems, but I did want to let you know that I was still around and kicking, and hopefully be back at work at Stamp Antonio real soon! So as I always say, "Keep on Stampin'!" And come see all the new product that has come in at the store!

Is Winter Ever Going to End?

I don;t know why I am anxious for winter to end, but I am! This has been the coldest winter we have experienced in Texas in quite a while. It has been wet, and cold, and even slushy a time or two, but all for the best so they say. The Texas wildflowers should be out in full force this spring! I guess that is what I am looking forward to. The bluebonnets, phlox, indian paintbrush, mexican hats, and firewheels all make my heart flutter.

Although the flowers aren't out lining the Texas highways and byways yet, you can start planning now to collect the best Texas bluebonnet rubber stamps available. We have been stocking up on all sorts of Texas themed stamps available through our friend Mark Jetton and his Deadbeat Designs Stamps. Many Winter Texans(those that travel down south for the winter who live up north in the snow and cold)who are preparing to head home for the season are stopping by to collect a few of our Texas stamps to add to their collection. The request has been made for more bluebonnet stamps, so I will place an order very soon for them.

We are also preparing for FIESTA 2010 with lots of mariachi men, margaritas, sombreros, and fun chile stamps also from Deadbeat Designs Stamps. Senor Pepper is a fun stamp that is in demand every year about Fiesta time in San Antonio.

If you enjoy the stamp images by Mark and Deadbeat Designs, check out our Deadbeat Friday classes that started this year. Every last Friday of the month from 2:00 pm -4:00 pm I teach a class using one or several of Deadbeat stamps we have in stock.
Last month we did a box of All Occassion Cards using the NEW Texas Collage stamp and colored them with Prismacolor colored pencils. Mark was kind enough to mention them and show a picture of them in his blog.(link in the right hand column of this blog)
For our March project, we will be making and decorating two (2) picture cube blocks to hold photos or cards or any of your stamping projects. The samples will be on display at the store very soon, so stop by next week and sign up for our Deadbeat Friday class and have a rootin' tootin' Texas good time with us!

I also want to make mention of a new blog linked to ours, welcome to InkyJane's blog. She is someone very near and dear to us here at Stamp Antonio Arts, and we hope you will check out her blog very soon.
Until next time, Keep on Stampin'!

I'm Back, fellow Blog Readers and Stampers!

Hello Everyone,
I am so happy to be back blogging with you about Stamp Antonio Arts, and all of the FUN things we have going on this year at the store!
I was having so many computer issues at the end of 2009 I wasn't able to keep up with all of the posts. Hopefully 2010 will be a better year!

Well, let's see, where to start? How about with our Hero Arts Club. We started this club January 2010 as a gathering of Hero Art Stamp enthusiasts who LOVE Hero Art stamps, and love getting together to stamp and share them with others. The popularity has been overwhelming! We have two meetings each month, either one that meets on a Thursday afternoon from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm, OR an evening meeting that meets on the following day, Friday from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. You may check our class calendar for the exact date and times each month, but please be sure to register early. Our classroom only accomodates 25 persons at a time, so our numbers are limited. Last month we had a waiting list, so try to sign up early. The meeting fee is only $5 to offset the cost of refreshments and some supplies. Hope to see you there!

We also have lots of NEW classes on the class calander for February. Be sure to come by the store to see the class samples, and sign up for a class or two. Carrie Avery is back teaching a series of classes every Friday during the month of February that are from the NEW Design Originals Book, entitled "Cards and Trinkets!" Many of the projects in this book were made by Carrie for this book and use Tim Holtz' line of Ideaology products, and his many Ranger products, too. Call or come by the store to sign up for one or all of these FUN classes.

We are also excited to announce that we are finalizing the details of the trunk show with Harlee Quinnz Designs Stamp company. They want to come offer some classes and bring a lot of their product to San Antonio near the end of the month. We have a small sampling of their stamps and clip art at the store, that seems to be popular with our younger stampers, as well as those of us who have been stamping for quite awhile. They have some really interesting designs!

February is also our "We Love our Customers" month. Every February we celebrate and thank our customers with a special drawing. The rules of the drawing are simple. You come in to Stamp Antonio Arts, spend $20 or more in merchandise, and in addition to your "stamp buck" you get a chance to enter the drawing that will be held at the end of February. I can't tell you what the prize will be, but I'm sure it will be a good one! You are eligible to enter EVERY DAY, if you see fit to come visit and " spend a little green" with us. We so love to see your smiling faces!

So, until next time, stay happy and Keep on Stampin"!
