In December, Sally Lynn MacDonald, will be here giving classes at Stamp Antonio Arts in how to use Copic Markers, Glimmer Mists and masks, and how to use all of the unique Ranger products to make wonderful gifts for the holidays.
In between, our own talented instructors are busy keeping the calendar full of wonderfully creative classes we hope you will try. Everything from cards and tags, to home decor and gifts, to make this a handmade "MADE WITH LOVE" Christmas!

No News is Good News, So they say. . . . . . .
We held a wonderful Book Signing with Rice Freeman-Zachery a few weeks ago. There was a tremendous turn out to hear her speak on Creativeness, and then sign copies of her new book,"Creative Time and Space." For those of you who were not able to attend, yet would still be interested in a copy of her book, we do have a few copies left at the store. I was to post photos taken at the event, but without my handy dandy laptop there was no way to get them here. As soon as I get them into the store computer, I will post them .
Lot's of holiday merchandise has begun arriving at the store. There is still some Halloween and Thanksgiving stamps and papers, and Christmas is starting to trickle in. The big shipments should begin any day now! The November Class Calendar should be up on the web page in a few days, so you can check out and sign up for all of the wonderful fall classes we have planned.
If you have any questions about the classes or just merchandise in general, give us a call at 210-342-6217. We are here Tuesday through Saturday 10:00am- 6:00 pm, closed Sunday and Monday. Wednesday evenings are our Artist Night Out from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and we are open during this time for your shopping convenience. We hope to see you all soon.

Fall is Finally Here!
We have been receiving a lot of goodies lately! New issues of magazines, new rubber stamps, mostly Halloween and Day of the Dead. This year we also received some Jewish stamps for the High Holidays this month.
Last week we received a shipment from a New company to us, Canvas Corp. You may have seen ads in all of the latest mixed-media magazines from this company. They have all sorts of bases for all types of mixed-media art work, made from canvas. We got supplies for banners, placemat size hemmed canvas, muslin napkins about 14" square, along with small accent shaped canvas pieces to add dimension to your canvas project. I made a sample banner, with some journaling on it, along with embellishments of buttons, ribbons, beads, and metal. So much FUN!
WE were also notified that our order from Tweedy Jill in Florida should be on its way this week! Many of you took advantage of the wonderful Alice in Wonderland themed stamps, card kits, and clip art the ladies brought back from their vacation to Florida last month, where they met Jill and checked out her operation. They loaded up their SUV and brought a nice supply of product home from Florida, and all of the styles of card kits and stsamps they brought, including Song Birds, Roosters, Wild West, and the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, (to go along with the Alice stuff) was scooped up almost immediately! We heard that a new release of the Alice in Wonderland story will be in movie theaters in March of 2010, so I guess everyone is getting into the Alice mood for then! I may have to go back and re-read the story from my childhood days. . . I don't remember too many of the details.
We also want to thank Geeta Suggs, for coming down to San Antonio and teaching a special Saturday of Halloween treat classes for us this month. These classes coinsided with the release of the new Amuse Artstamps Halloween stamps, and we have reordered stock due to the overwhelming turn-out of "Amuseholics". They really do love their Amuse Stamps!
We have more new and interesting classes coming in October and November! Keep your eyes open for the times and dates of these exciting classes and sign up soon! You won't want to be left out! And, until next time, Keep on Stampin'. . . . . we are always here to help you!

These CRAZY Computers! What did we do before them?
Well, school is back in session and things are rolling along at Stamp Antonio Arts. We are receiving new merchandise on a regular basis, and having lots of new and fun classes. We are getting Halloween and Thanksgiving and some new Christmas stamps and papers. We also got a very nice display of products from Tweedy Jill Designs in Florida. The bosses visited with Jill while they were down in Florida on vacation, and brought back all kinds of new stamps, card making sets, and clip art. Unfortunately, we have almost sold out of most of it, but are expecting to order more to arrive in a few weeks. Alice in Wonderland, and the Mad Hatter's Tea Party are two of the lines that came with the assortment, and forseeing the arrival of the new "Alice" movie in early 2010 the product is flying off the shelves.
We have another great round of AMuse Artstamps for Halloween that just arrived, and have scheduled another full Saturday of classes with Geeta Suggs coming Saturday September12, 2009. If you are interested in these classes, please be sure to call and sign up right away, so Geeta can know how many students to plan for when she comes down from Austin. There is more information on our web page for the classes with Geeta, and all of our future classes.
Our web address is; www.stampantonio.com
We are still closed on Monday's, and will be celebrating Labor Day this coming Monday. We hope you will have a wonderful holiday, and come by and see us on Saturday or Tuesday to shop or just look around and see what is new and exciting at Stamp Antonio! Maybe you will find a class that interests you, or join one of our workshops that meet on a weekly basis. Any way, we hope to see you soon!

I have been crazy busy, while the bosses have been out of the store on vacation. I have been so busy that I haven't had five minutes to update the blog, and I apologize for that! We have been busy building new displays at the store for our papers and our stamps, and planning for the NEW upcoming holiday displays that will be arriving shortly.
We have already started receiving Dia de los Muertos stamps, along with some fall type stamps and papers. Today, we put out the NEW Horse stamp line from Deadbeat Designs. Our friend, Mark, has been working day and night to get the new images to the store along with samples that are really spectacular. One sample he sent with the new horse images is so cute, we have been asked to do a class of it. This class will be in September, if we can work it into the schedule.
Another of our NEW displays in the store, is our " AS SEEN IN. . . . . . " area right inside the front door. This display will hold samples of projects seen in the newest of our favorite magazines! We also have a featured "paper of the week" where we have made samples showing you different ways to use our many types and styles of papers that we carry, from cardstock and scrapbook papers to handmade papers and parent sheets of paper.
Our classes this week are informative, Thursday, Marilyn Sanders is teaching a class on how to use Golden Products in your paper arts, from collage art to even cardmaking. She has a lot of new ideas to share with us using this medium. Saturday, is our Tea Bag book class with Valerie Lacayo. Valerie will be teaching a very simple book you bind yourself, and it is in the shape of a Tea Bag. Very cute, indeed! In the afternoon, Marilyn will return with an intermediate soldering class, so if you have learned the basics of soldering, and want to take it to the next level, come by and sign up for her class on Saturday! We have the samples for her class on our Class Board right as you come in the front door of the store. There are openings in each of these classes if you call right away and reserve your space. Otherwise you may miss out on these informative classes.
That's all I can think of to mention at this time. School will be starting soon for some, so get out of the house and come on down to Stamp Antonio Arts and try your hand at something NEW! You'll be glad you did! Hope to see you soon.

SUMMER IS HERE!
There are so many things going on at Stamp Antonio Arts, my head is spinning!
Last week we celebrated my birthday on Wednesday evening during our Artist's Night Out! What a Hoot! Amy, Carol and Zoe brought me a German Chocolate Cake, and everyone from customers in the store, to the ladies attending Artist's Night Out, gathered around to sing "Happy Birthday" and then joined us in eating cake! What a pleasant and enjoyable surprise! MY head has been in the clouds ever since!
We have received many products this week, including a shipment of Outlines Rubber Stamps, and more Punch Bunch paper punches. We have also received a "boat-load" of scrapbook 12X12 papers from "gcd papers" that are very beautiful. But of course, along with the new, comes disposal of the old! Lots of papers on SALE at 4 for $1.00. Hurry in while the pickin's are good!
We have also received a special shipment of Webster's Papers, which are very nice, and inspired our own paper maven, Jane, to create a Vintage Recipe Book Sample from our Texas shaped chipboard albums and the Webster's paper. You must come by the store and check it out. It is AWESOME!
I don't want to jinx our summer class sign ups, but I did want to thank all of our wonderful customers who have been signing up, and bringing their friends to our inspiring Summer Classes at the store. Our numbers are improving somewhat, but don't let the growing numbers scare you away from attending some of these terriffic classes. Our instructors are working very hard to plan and execute interesing and creative classes that will keep you inspired and craving more, and more classes in the weeks to come! What a wonderful way to spend your hot summer afternoons, than learning a new hobby, or technique, at Stamp Antonio Arts in our cool and comfortable environment! "WILD"flowers in TEXAS!
I was so happy to be inside Stamp Antonio Arts with the air on! So was the UPS man, when he came in with deliveries. We finally got in our Item of the Month for May, and they are a really cool Spirit Doll, paper doll rubber stamp from Hampton Art/Limited Edition. I have a few really neat ideas for using this stamp, now I just have to see if I can bring them to fruition within the next few days. We also got in some of the New Hero Arts Clear Acrylic sets yesterday, and the rest of the Team is working on samples from them. Maybe I will be able to put some of them on the blog next week.
Customers have been asking for card samples on the blog, but we would rather see your smiling faces in person at the store! But since the recession and all, the smiling faces have been few and far between. You, our dear sweet customers, have been staying home, and not even coming out for our wonderful and interesting classes. We have had to cancel some really GREAT classes over the last few weeks, due to non-interest and that real makes us SAD!
We will keep offering classes as long as we can, but if you have constructive suggestions, we would LOVE to hear from YOU, our trusted customers. Call us at 342-6217; e-mail us at manager@stampantonio.com; OR leave a comment on this blog.
We WILL look forward to hearing from all of you, and seeing you soon! Until then, "Keep on Stamping!"

Metal Effects Cross Class!
Last Saturday, April 18,2009 our own Carol Condos held a Metal Effects Class at Stamp Antonio Arts, and her students embossed these wonderful Crosses using the products available from Ten Seconds Studios. The works of art that come out of these classes are just awesome, and every class gets better and better. You may remember seeing in this blog about the tumblers and wall clocks that were decorated with this metal in previous blog posts, and now these wonderful crosses. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
If you are really interested in this Metal Effects art form, be sure to check out the web site for Ten Seconds Studios, and their Taco Tuesday videos that they do each week. The link is in the sidebar for your convenience. They really do some creative things with the metal and their templates. If you see something in the videos or on their site that you are dying to try, we do carry most of their products at Stamp Antonio, so you can come right on over and pick up some supplies. If Carol is here that day, she will even give you a mini-lesson to get you started creating some of these metal wonders.

Bluebonnets. . . . Have you seen any?
Have you seen any bluebonnets this year? This photo is courtesy of our friend, Mark Jetton, of Deadbeat Designs stamps. He took a Road Trip one day, and had to go all the way over to East Texas to find some blooming along the highways like we usually see around here in Central Texas near San Antonio.
If you are looking for bluebonnets, you don't have to waste gas driving all over the state to find them. We have plenty here at Stamp Antonio Arts, thanks again to Mark Jetton and Deadbeat Design Stamps. He introduced three new sizes of bluebonnet stamps this spring, and even sent us a wonderful paper bag mini book decorated with the new flower stamps and some of his photos. I taught a class of this mini book last week, and we had so much fun, stamping and coloring bluebonnets for our own books. Drop by the store anytime to see these wonderful NEW Bluebonnet Stamps, along with ideas on how to decorate your home or a card with our State Flower of TEXAS! And of course, we have lots of Stickles to add just the right amount of twinkle to each one.
I also wanted to mention that we received a new line of invitations, response cards, menu cards, and place cards in various sizes from American Crafts. There are 4 Theme's available; a Damask design flocked in black on white stock; a silver metallic flourish design on cream stock; a pink glittered rose bud on white stock, and a green branch with leaves on cream stock. Each theme comes in the different sizes of invitations and such, and would be beautiful for any occasion, party, or get-together. Our own, Jane Smith, is having a class this Saturday, April 18, 2009 making various invitations for all types of get-togethers. If you are planning an event, and think you might be interested in making your own invitations, rather than spending lots of $$$$$$$$ to have them done somewhere else, you may want to come by and sign up for Jane's class and let her show you how you can save money and time by doing them yourself. You may even enjoy the time you spend working on them and be proud to say, "I made them myself!"
We hope to see you soon.

"Bunny Time" is just around the corner, (April 12, 2009) and we still have a great assortment of chickies, bunnies, and eggs for your Easter stamping. We also have a few of the Holly Berry House multi layer Cross stamps that when stamped multiple times, you can make a great dimensional decoration, that would look good on the front of a card. Susan Casto will be having an Easter Make-N-Take this Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm using the Rubber Stamp Tapestry line of peg stamps. Jane Smith will be conducting a Spring/Easter card class on Saturday, April 4, 2009 using the Outlines Rubber Stamps. Her class will make 4 cards and is just $25 for three hours of stamping fun, between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm. Call 342-6217 at once to register for this class if you are interested.
My class will be making a cute as pie Bluebonnet Paper Bag Book this Saturday, April 4, 2009, from 2:30 till 4:30 pm. This little book is made from paper lunch bags, and will hold photos of your favorite wildflowers or "wild"grandchildren. We will be stamping bluebonnets and other Texas type stamps from Deadbeat Designs throughout the book, and bluebonnet photos will be provided for each student. This class is only $15, but class size is limited to 12 students, so sign up early if this class interests you.
Well, I guess it's time for me to hop, hop, hop, on over to the Bunny Patch and prepare more special surprises for our customers. Every day is exciting at Stamp Antonio Arts, and you never know what merchandise will come rolling in the door! Stop by sometime and see what we mean. We will look forward to showing you around. . . . . . .

Susan Casto is Back!
Susan is such a talented and wonderful teacher, if you have never taken one of her classes, you should do so! You will be pleased at the work you walk away with. She takes you through each project step by step, and of course, encourages you to step out side your comfort zone and create a work that you would be proud of. There are many students that follow her from class to class, because she is so patient, and encourages you to continue even when you question your own ability.
She also has another watercolor class coming up on March 28, 2009, which is a little more challenging because of it's size, and it is called "Nana's Cottage." The stamp that is the basis for the piece, is also our Stamp of the Month for March at Stamp Antonio. If you think you might want to take this class from Susan, you might want to stop by the store in advance and pick up this stamp while we have it in stock. To take advantage of our Item of the Month special price, you must come into the store and make a purchase. With the cash register receipt from that sale, you must return to the store on another day, make another purchase of at least $10.00 and then with your coupon at the bottom of your receipt you can recieve the Item of the Month for 40 percent off the regular retail price.
Don't wait until the end of the month to come and get your Item of the Month! We have been know to sell out before the end of the month. We order the same amount of specials each month, and when they are gone. . . they are gone!
Susan also teaches our peg stamp classes from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. Their peg stamps are unique, in that they are one of the only companies that adhere their rubber stamp images to the end of a round peg, similar to a dowel stick. We are the only store in San Antonio that sells Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps, and they are one of our most popular styles of stamps because of their unique shape and size. Come by and see the beautiful sample cards Susan has made for us using these one of a kind stamps.
We hope to see you soon, and as always, if you have any questions or comments about something you see or hear about on our web site or blog, just come by the store, or give us a call. Our store number is 210-342-6217 and we are open daily, Monday through Saturday, 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. Wednesday's we are here from 10:00 am till 9:00 pm.

NEW Arrivals at Stamp Antonio Arts!
Of course, with the Rodeo in full swing, we had to pick up a lot of Texas themed albums, and since we are all pet lovers at the store we had to get the "Woof" and "Meow" albums. If you come by and can't find the theme you are interested in, let us know. . . . .
maybe we can order them for you!
Of course, I picked up my Spurs album, and if you are interested in seeing how I decorated it, stay tuned to the blog, and I will show pictures of it, as soon as I finish.
Well, tomorrow is Valentines Day, and if you are like me, and don't have anything ready to share with your loved ones, be sure to stop by the store. You can always pick up a few stamps and inks, a card or two, and a few pieces of ribbon to make a card. We also have our item of the month heart stamp kit, and with Some Assembly Required, and a few sheets of cardstock, you can make a dimensional heart that can be used on a card, or as a charm on a necklace and earrings.
If you prefer not to assemble it yourself, it would still make a great gift, along with a Gift Certificate to Stamp Antonio Arts for any and all of your Papercrafting needs.
Have a terriffic Valentine's Day, we will be open regular business hours, 10:00 am till 6:00 pm, and will have two classes and a FREE Demo going on. Stop by and see what's new at Stamp Antonio Arts.

We take classes, too! Our own Carol Condos, attended a class Wednesday afternoon in Salado, Tx. at Stamp Salado. Their previous owner, Lynn Lloyd, (in blue) was blowing through Texas on her way to CHA in California and decided to stop and see many of her friends in Salado, TX. including Mark Jetton, owner of Deadbeat Designs Stamps. (photo courtesy of Mark Jetton)
Carol made lots of samples using some of Deadbeats New designs for 2009, and will have them on display at the store for all to see. The New "Texas" themed stamps have been ordered and will arrive soon. There are Valentines, chocolates, bluebonnets, and more. We also have lots to celebrate the Rodeo beginning next week.
So if you have friends coming in for the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, be sure to bring them by Stamp Antonio Arts, so we can show them the wonderful line of TEXAS stamps that Mark makes for us at Deadbeat Designs in Salado, Tx.

INCHIE Swap! NEW at Stamp Antonio Arts
We have begun an "Inchie Swap" at Stamp Antonio Arts. Inkadinkado stamp company has come out with a line of "inchie" sized acrylic stamps that we received about a week or so ago. Of course, they sold out immediately, so we have had to reorder them. In the meantime, Jane and I have "primed the pump" so to speak, and started a swap among our customers that are consumed by the INCHIE craze!
INCHIES by definition, are a 1" by 1" piece of personal ART! You may use any art technique or product of choice to decorate your little 1" square of ART. The more techniques you use on one Inchie, the more collectable they become. There are many groups around the world making and trading these beauties, similar to Artist Trading Cards (ATC's). We didn't want to be that formal, so we just put out a few handfuls of them in a basket and they took off from there.
To participate in our "SWAP" you must make a few Inchies yourself. Then bring them into Stamp Antonio. If you bring in 5 inchies and place them in our basket, then you may take out 5 in trade. They are NOT for sale, remember you must make some and bring them in to trade.
If you would like more information on how to make INCHIES, or see some that have already been made to get some ideas, just come by Stamp Antonio Arts during regular business hours and we will show you how. Once you try them, you will be hooked! There are no special supplies required, and the only limitations is your own imagination.
INCHIES are just so much fun! Make a handful and come on by today!
See you soon,
Mindy and the Team at Stamp Antonio Arts
